Dian Hong
Dian hong is the first ever Black Tea of Yunnan.It was created in 1938 using high quality tea leaves from Fengqing. This tea was originally to be named Yunhong,which means Yunnan Red.Yunnan Tea Company later changed Yunhong to Dianhong in 1939.Dian is the abbreviation of Yunnan.


Golden Buds (Jin Ya)
In 1958 the Fengqing Tea Company first produced Jin Ya,which means Golden Buds in Chinese. Instead of using 1 bud to 2-3 leaves, they started to pick only tea buds. Yunnan was the first place to make black tea from only tea buds.It is also known as Yunnan Pure Gold,which is considered the first grade of Dian Hong.

The dried tea appears golden orange color with tiny white hairs.The tea liquor is bright red in color.The leaves are reddish brown after being brewed.

Brewing Guide
We recommend using purple clay or porcelain tea ware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Use about 2 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for every 150ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 95°c (203°F) for 1 minute for the 1st and 2nd brewing.Steep tea leaves in hot water at 80°c (176°F) more than 3rd brewing. Gradually increase steeping time for subsequent brewing.Please bide boiled water for minutes to obtain hot water at 80°c (176°F),don’t mix with cold water.
